Amazon Shipping Initiative Highlights Its Plan to Improve Service

Version 0 of 1. Amazon (AMZN) this week said that it would begin handling ocean shipment of goods from Chinese companies that sell on its site. The initiative is part of a larger effort by the company to improve its logistics and shipping and, in turn, provide better delivery service to customers worldwide. A few months ago, Amazon signaled its intent to embark on a multi-year quest to build out its delivery business. Not content with just selling merchandise and then handing it over to one of the major freight companies, the company aims to handle every step of the transaction, and that could mean big rewards for investors. |
