A man has died in a shooting at a barber's shop in Leeds. A 19-year-old man has died in a "targeted" shooting at a barber's shop in Leeds.
The victim was at the shop on Gathorne Terrace, in the Chapeltown area, when he was shot shortly before 13.20 GMT on Thursday. The teenager was at Too Sharp's The Barber Shop on Gathorne Terrace, in the Harehills area, when he was shot shortly before 13.20 GMT on Thursday.
West Yorkshire Police said the man was found seriously injured and taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment, but later died.West Yorkshire Police said the man was found seriously injured and taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment, but later died.
Officers said it was investigating and a cordon had been put in place around the scene. A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. 
Det Ch Insp Stuart Spencer said: "We have launched a murder investigation following this man's death and are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. 
"Although our inquiries are still at a relatively early stage, we believe this has been a targeted attack on the victim.
"We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area yesterday and witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation."
A post mortem examination is due to take place later.
