Man dies in Fairfax when car hits house, throwing him to ground
Version 0 of 1. A man died in Fairfax County Saturday when he tried to stop his moving car, which struck a house and threw him to the ground, the county police said. They said David Sifuentes, 29, of Centreville was repairing his parked 2001 Volkswagen sedan around 1 p.m. in the 6200 block of Prince Way. An 8-year-old boy was in the car and Sifuentes asked him to start it, the police said. Sifuentes was outside the driver’s side door when the car began moving in reverse, police said. They said Sifuentes tried to stop the car, but they gave no details on how he tried to do it. The car continued through a parking lot, went over a curb, and struck a townhouse, the police said. The police statement did not say how fast the car was moving. They said Sifuentes, who had been holding on to the steering wheel, was thrown from the vehicle, and he struck the ground. Police said he died at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The relationship between the man and the boy was not disclosed. Nor was any cause of death released. It was not clear whether there were any other witnesses to the incident. Police said Saturday that they were continuing to investigate. |
