(about 6 hours later)
Explosives officers have been called in and one lane of the M40 near High Wycombe has been closed after police found a number of unidentified items.
Police were called to an area near the M40 between junctions three and four after the items were found by members of the public on Wednesday night.
A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said forensic officers were at the scene.
She said explosives officers had been called to the area in Buckinghamshire on Wednesday as a precaution.
|The spokeswoman said she could not comment on whether the search was related to an earlier search of woods in High Wycombe in connection with an alleged airline bomb plot.||The spokeswoman said she could not comment on whether the search was related to an earlier search of woods in High Wycombe in connection with an alleged airline bomb plot.|
