Version 0 of 1.

Three men were shot Sunday night on a residential street near Columbia Heights in Northwest Washington, according to D.C. police.

The shootings occurred abut 8:40 p.m. in the 700 block of Gresham Place NW, a few blocks from the northern edge of the Howard University campus.

Police had only a scant description of a possible shooter — a man with dreadlocks wearing all black clothing and armed with a handgun.

Cmdr. Stuart Emerman, who runs the Third District station, said in a posting to a community Internet bulletin board that two victims were located at the scene and a third victim was located later at a hospital.

None of the injuries was described as life threatening.
