Dyfed-Powys Police Det Chief Insp Martin Davies said they had identified potential witnesses in Friars Lane from CCTV footage of the area.
He said: "We have two young men in their 20s. Both have light-coloured shirts on and possibly wearing jeans. They were standing in the middle of Friars Lane waiting for a friend.
"That friend approaches them, and he's wearing a hooped shirt and a jacket.
"At some stage they were then spoken to by two men, one wearing combat clothing and another man carrying a Tesco carrier bag.
"We're very interested to find out what that conversation was about."
