Version 0 of 1.

D.C. jail officials are investigating the death of an inmate whose body was found Friday morning in his cell.

Jail officials said correction officers found Eric Terrell, 35, unresponsive in his cell at 3:21 a.m. and tried resuscitation efforts before summoning medical assistance. Terrell was pronounced dead at 4:06 a.m.

Jail spokesman Rodney C. Mitchell said there were no obvious signs of trauma to Terrell’s body or of suicide. Terrell, who had been in D.C. jail since last year, was scheduled to go to trial in D.C. Superior Court in July in connection with a case involving robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
