The 100-share index was up 31.36 points at 7,551.31, while the 250-share index was 22.19 points higher at 19,994.36. Amongst FTSE 100 companies, Bookmaker Paddy Power led the risers, up 4.34% at £84.20. Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey was the biggest faller, down 6.45% at 190p.
