Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said it happened on Dunwoody Way at about 16:32 BST on Wednesday. One person, believed to be the crane driver, has been released and airlifted to hospital with "unconfirmed injuries". Cheshire Police said two others remain trapped.
The fire service said a man, believed to be the crane driver, had been released and was being taken to hospital by air ambulance. It happened at a new housing development by Morrisons on Dunwoody Way at 16:30 BST.
The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
