A man has died and another remains in a "very serious" condition after a blaze at a house, police said. Two men have died after being rescued from a blaze at a house, police said.

Attempts were made to revive one victim at the scene before both were taken to the James Paget hospital, where they died a short time later, Suffolk Police confirmed.

A joint police and fire investigation into the cause is under way but Cmdr Bowell said preliminary inquiries "lead them to believe the fire started in the kitchen". Suffolk Police are not naming either of the men at present. The men have not yet been formally identified.
