(35 minutes later)
A flight has been diverted after a drone caused disruption at Gatwick Airport, according to reports. A runway has been closed at Gatwick airport due to a drone flying too close, it has been reported.
The runway has also reportedly been closed due to the flying object. At least one flight has been diverted with passengers claiming on social media they are heading to Bournemouth airport instead.
Other flights have been told to circle around the airport as a precaution.
A spokesman for the airport told the BBC the runway was closed for two short periods of nine minutes and five minutes and that one plane had been sent to Stansted airport.
Police are believed to be investigating the incident.
