Three homicides in Prince George’s Tuesday, early Wednesday
Version 0 of 1. A man died at a hospital Tuesday after arriving as a “walk-in” patient with a gunshot wound, Prince George’s County police said. A second man was reported fatally shot in Prince George’s early Wednesday. The two incidents, and another incident which was reported early Tuesday, brought the number of killings discovered in the county to three in less than 24 hours. Police said the man who died at the hospital was shot Tuesday afternoon in the 7300 block of Landover Road. That shooting apparently occurred not long before the victim arrived at the hospital. The nearest hospital to the site of the Landover Road shooting appears to be about 2 miles away. Although the man was described as a “walk-in” patient, and may have entered the hospital on his own, no information was available about how he traveled to the hospital. Most wounded gunshot victims are brought to hospitals in emergency vehicles by rescue personnel. But sometimes they arrive on their own, after driving themselves to the hospital, or being dropped off by others. The Wednesday morning shooting was reported about 1:30 a.m. in the 2500 block of Darel Drive, in the Suitland area of Prince George’s Police said the man had been hit in the upper body and died at the scene. Few details were immediately available about either shooting. In the first of the three homicides the victim was found about 7 a.m in the 800 block of Kayak Avenue in Capitol Heights. The man had a wound, but no information was available on its nature. |
