A man has been arrested after a woman died in suspicious circumstances in Wigan, police say. A man arrested after a woman died in Wigan has been released without charge, police have said.
Paramedics informed police at 20:20 BST on Saturday after the "sudden death" of a 28-year-old in her home on Thomas Street. The 35-year-old had been held by police while post-mortem tests were due to take place.
A 35-year-old man has been held on suspicion of murder, and post-mortem tests are due to take place. But Greater Manchester Police said it was no longer treating the death of the 28-year-old woman as suspicious.
A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said: "The circumstances surrounding the woman's death raised suspicion." Officers were called to the woman's home on Thomas Street at 20:20 BST on Saturday.
Detective Chief Inspector Clare Devlin said: "My thoughts continue to be with the woman's family at this devastating time."
