Police identified one of two men killed in a wrong-way crash in Fort Washington on Friday as Robert Peterson Sr., 48, of Waldorf.

Peterson was traveling south on Indian Head Highway when a car being driven in the wrong direction struck him head-on about 2:35 a.m. near Livingston Road, according to Prince George’s County police. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police are working to identify the second driver and to determine why he was traveling north on a southbound road.
