Two inmates died at a Virginia women’s correctional facility in the past week, a Virginia Department of Corrections spokesman said.

Carolyn Liberto, 70, died on July 21 and Deanna Niece, 38, died on July 25 at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women, said Greg Carter, the community relations coordinator for the state’s Department of Corrections. Liberto was incarcerated for murder, grand larceny and perjury, online records show.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, which was not immediately available for either inmate, Carter said.
