But he said while children with CF had to have medication and therapy on a daily basis the development in treatments over recent years meant "children can expect to live an extremely happy, active and in most ways normal life". Ms Barnes said he would have to accept regular medical treatment. She also said that while there were people in their 20s and 30s who were waiting for lung transplants, the treatments today were not available when they were children.
