A search operation is under way for a scuba diver who is missing in the North Sea. | |
The 68-year-old man, from the Brighton area, had been diving on a wreck. | |
The coastguard was called at 17:52 BST on Monday when the diver, who was at sea as part of a group, failed to return to a dive vessel which earlier departed from the port of Lowestoft. | |

It is understood that the diver let off a distress balloon, which surfaced at 17:00 and lifeboat crews from Gorleston, Lowestoft and Caister were called to help. | |
They were assisted by two coastguard helicopters, one from Hull and another from Lydd, Kent. | |
