Emergency services are dealing with a plane crash at Caernarfon airport in north Wales, with police, fire crews and the ambulance service all sent to the airport on Wednesday evening. The pilot of a light aircraft has died after it crashed into the runway at Caernarfon airport in north Wales.
Police said one person had died in the incident. Police, fire crews and the ambulance service were sent to the airport around 6:30pm on Wednesday evening after reports of a crash. The pilot was declared dead at the scene.

North Wales Police wrote on Twitter: “Officers are currently dealing with an incident at Caernarfon Airport with colleagues from Ambulance & Fire. More details as we get it.” Ch Insp Sharon McCairn, of North Wales police, said: “A cordon is in place around the site and we are urging the public to remain clear of the area to allow the emergency services to deal with the incident.
One witness told the Daily Post he had seen a plane crash on to the tarmac and explode. He said: “The first thing I noticed was that the plane had no landing gear on. And then I realised it was going too fast. “Enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing and we are in contact with the air accident investigation branch.”
