A car at the centre of a police shooting in which a man died has been moved from the scene. A motorist pointed a gun at another driver in the Midlands before he was shot near the M5 in Bristol, police have confirmed.

Avon and Somerset Police said it acted following reports of a man who was driving in a car on the M5 near Bristol with a handgun. The report was made to West Mercia police that covers south of Birmingham.
The road is still closed amid a police watchdog investigation. The police watchdog examined the scene earlier and moved the vehicle at lunchtime.

West Mercia Police said they received the tip off at about 08:30 on Wednesday when the suspect was close to junction eight, near to Strensham services and the M50 junction.
Police have confirmed a man was shot just off the M5 and close to Gordano services an hour later.
A spokesperson for West Mercia police said the information from West Mercia Police was "passed on to the central motorway police group" and also to the police watchdog the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
