A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 17-year-old boy was shot in the head while riding pillion on a motorbike. | |

Det Supt Dave Brunskill, of Merseyside Police, said the teenager was the victim of a "targeted shooting". | |
The arrested woman, 29 and from Knowsley, is being questioned at a police station in Merseyside. | |
Det Supt Brunskill said: "We suspect that this was a targeted attack. | |
"We are keeping an open mind in terms of the lines of investigation we are pursuing." | |
He also said officers were "extremely keen" to speak to the motorbike rider who left the scene "at speed". | |
Detectives are investigating what the rider and James Meadows were doing prior to the shooting. | |
Det Supt Brunskill made an appeal for witnesses, especially urging anyone who might have dashcam footage to contact the force. |
