Re “On Trump’s Right Flank, a Survivor Well Attuned to Resentment” (front page, Oct. 10):

Your profile of Stephen Miller, a senior policy adviser to President Trump, repeatedly asks whether his “provocative,” often bigoted antics are just “puckishness” or “shtick,” and whether he’s “crafting a character.” This implies that bigotry is somehow less toxic if the one spewing it is playing a part. It isn’t.

None of this is entertaining. It’s divisive, self-serving and destructive. Stop enabling. This behavior is neither benign nor acceptable, especially in the White House.
