A man has been charged with a number of offences following a four-hour siege at a bowling alley in Nuneaton. A man accused of taking two people hostage during a four-hour siege at a bowling alley has appeared in court.
David Clarke, 53, of Nuneaton, faces charges including false imprisonment and possession of an imitation firearm, Warwickshire Police said. David Clarke, 53, was arrested on Sunday after the stand-off at MFA Bowl in Bermuda Park, Nuneaton.
Armed officers were called to MFA Bowl in Bermuda Park at around 14:30 BST on Sunday following reports a gunman had taken two people hostage. He is charged a number of offences, including false imprisonment and being in possession of a samurai sword and a sawn-off shotgun.
Mr Clarke is due before magistrates later. Mr Clarke of Ryde Avenue, Nuneaton, was remanded into custody and will appear before Warwick Crown Court next month.
He has been charged with two counts of false imprisonment, one count of criminal damage and two counts of possession of a bladed article. The 53-year-old has been charged with the following offences:

He has been remanded in custody. Appearing at Warwickshire Justice Centre, Mr Clarke spoke only to confirm his name, age and address.
