To the Editor:

“Shopping Without Schlepping” (Business Day, Oct. 6) describes online ordering and customer pickup for Walmart. This perk is rampant today in our supermarkets, drugstores and retail stores.

The only exercise that many Americans get is from walking the aisles while shopping. Remove it and wait for the obesity epidemic and associated health risks to increase.

Wouldn’t it be better to create a national walk-the-aisles campaign to get consumers back in the stores?
