The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is investigating the crash. Jaspal Singh Bhara, 27, Vietnamese pilot Nguyen Thanh Trung, 32, and helicopter instructor Mike Green also died in the collision.
Mr Singh Bahra's family described him as a "kind-hearted, generous and loving person" with an "infectious smile".
"Jaspal's dream was always to be a pilot. This dream was fulfilled when he became a well-respected, admired, trusted and a highly qualified pilot with professional licences.
"Jaspal's light will forever shine in our hearts like the proverbial candle in the wind."
Capt Trung Thanh Nguyen's family said he was "the perfect military officer".
In a tribute they added: "He was a beloved member among his family, a great husband and father. He will be missed."
The collision took place 15 minutes after the helicopter took off at about 12:00 GMT on Friday.
