Man charged after Liverpool city centre mass brawl

A 23-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a mass brawl which left one man with a head injury.

Police were called after a fight broke out near a bar in Concert Square in Liverpool at 23:20 GMT on Wednesday.

The man has also been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and has appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court.

Police earlier released 26 German nationals who were arrested ahead of Everton's Europa League game.

A German man remains critically ill after suffering a head injury.
