Prisoner escapes on Stoke Mandeville Hospital visit

The inmate from HMP The Mount in Bovingdon was visiting Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire on Friday. A Ministry of Justice spokeswoman confirmed he "briefly escaped from custody" but was "swiftly recaptured by police in hospital grounds". The Hertfordshire category C prison is for men serving short sentences or with three months left to serve. The spokeswoman said the incident was being investigated. |
