Know your limits with alcohol - for me a three drink max will mean I’m merry but not falling down drunk. 2. Get on the dancefloor (if there is one) at least once –someone will always comment on the “boring so and so” who sat down all night. 3. Have your lift home booked for before midnight as this avoids all kinds of problems later in the night. 4. Don’t make a big show of leaving, just tell one or two people you are nipping off and leave – most people won’t notice and you can get away easily. 5. Remember it is a WORK function.
