A cousin told the Press Association Mr Mohammed was a loving father whose children were all under 15. The taxi driver, 33, had five daughters and one son all aged under 15 and was described by his father as a "happy, loving and friendly guy".
Liaqat Ali said one is due to celebrate their birthday on Monday and added: "He was a very nice guy, caring and hard-working." Ikhtiar Mohammed said his "heart sank" when the police knocked on his door at 05:00 GMT and he "knew there was something wrong".
He said: "I thought to myself, 'which of my sons is hurt', I just knew something was seriously wrong."
The victim's younger brother, Noorshad Mohammed, said Imtiaz rang his wife just before the crash, to tell her he was on his way home.
The 32-year-old said: "It was his last job of the night. That was the last time she spoke to him."
