Nottingham train station has been evacuated after a large fire broke out. A large fire at Nottingham station has spread to the roof, with 50 firefighters tackling the blaze, which broke out in the main concourse of the station.
Nottinghamshire fire and rescue service said it had sent eight appliances to the fire, which was being treated as a “large incident”. The station was evacuated and no casualties were reported, a spokeswoman for East Midlands ambulance service said.
Video posted to social media showed flames and smoke billowing from a building in the early hours. Nottinghamshire fire and rescue service tweeted on Friday: “There is a fully developed fire in the main concourse of the station which has spread to the roof.
“Crews are currently working to stop the fire from spreading, thank you for your patience whilst we work to keep you safe!”
The incident has caused delays across the local transport network.
