A 23-year-old man has died and three others were injured in a collision near Ardrossan on Saturday morning. Police have named a 23-year-old man who died in a car crash near Ardrossan on Saturday morning.

A passenger in the Citroen died at the scene. The driver, also 23, suffered minor injuries. Darren Byres, from Stevenston, who was a passenger in the Citroen, died at the scene. The 34-year-old driver suffered minor injuries.
Another passenger in the Citroen, an 18-year-old man, and the 71-year-old male driver of the Micra were taken to hospital in Kilmarnock. Another passenger in the Citroen, an 18-year-old man, and the 71-year-old male driver of the Micra were injured.
Their injuries are not thought to be serious. They were taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock following the crash but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening
