Valley flood disruption continues Homes evacuated over flood fears

Commuters and some schoolchildren in the Rhymney valley area continue to be affected in the aftermath of Friday's flooding across south and mid Wales. At least eight homes along the River Wye in Monmouth have been evacuated as the risk of flooding remains in place across south Wales.
The Environment Agency is monitoring the river's water levels and identified the homes along the east bank at the town's Wye Bridge as being at risk.
Gwent Police said residents were cooperating fully with the plan and would go into temporary accommodation.
Western Power is also working to ensure power supplies are not interrupted.
A police spokesman said: "Residents are co-operating fully with us and arrangements are in place to temporarily accommodate them.
"There may be interruption to some power supplies if the river exceeds predicted levels. We are working with Western Power to minimise this impact."
