Nesrine Malik (Opinion, 8 February) reminds us that Jacob Rees-Mogg is an exponent of an old tradition that recommends being polite and well turned-out if you want to make an impact as a revolutionary or a reactionary. Her first collection, The Kingfisher, appeared when she was 63 and changed the landscape of American verse.
