More than £2.5m is to be spent improving the road network in counties Londonderry and Tyrone.

Roads Service is to spend the money on maintenance and realignment schemes in the Limavady area.

In Strabane, the improvement schemes will include the replacement of Glenroan Bridge between Plumbridge and Draperstown.

Deirdre Mackle of Roads Service said the work was planned to begin in the spring of 2007.

"Roads Service is making every effort to keep disruption to a minimum and has completed as many schemes as possible during the summer months when there is generally less traffic," she said.
