A man has been charged with the murder of a 24-year-old woman who was found dead in a flat in Manchester city centre. A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 24-year-old woman found stabbed to death in a Manchester flat.
Michael Marler was charged with murder after the body of Danielle Richardson, from Oldham, was discovered on Tuesday. Michael Marler, 37, appeared at Manchester City magistrates court.
Police were called at about 7.40am following reports that a man had jumped from the window of a second-storey flat in Ancoats. He is accused of the murder of Danielle Richardson, whose body was found at a flat in Ancoats in Manchester city centre on Tuesday morning.
Marler, 37, jumped on to the roof of a black Hyundai on Swan Street and fled on foot towards Thompson Street before breaking the windows of several cars, including a black BMW. Police were called at about 7.40am to reports that a man had jumped from the window of a second-storey flat.
Marler, from Oldham, was also charged with attempted robbery, assault and three counts of causing damage to motor vehicles, Greater Manchester police said. Marler, of Oldham, had jumped on to the roof of a black Hyundai and on Swan Street and fled on foot towards Thompson Street before breaking the window of several cars, including a black BMW.
He is due to appear at Manchester City magistrates court on Saturday. He is also charged with attempted robbery, assault and three counts of causing damage to motor vehicles.
A postmortem revealed that Richardson, from Oldham, died from multiple stab injuries. She was described by by her family as a “loving and caring mother, sister, daughter and auntie” with a “heart of gold”.
Chair of the bench, Terri Farrow, remanded the defendant in custody for a first appearance at Manchester crown court on 20 February.
