• Milly Molly Mandy by Joyce Lankester Brisley and Little Grey Rabbit by Alison Uttley (Review, 17 February) were wonderful companions for a child in the 1950s. We owned few books, although my father sent me a Little Grey Rabbit book every week when he was working away. Today’s libraries have computers but they also have books, and it is vital that we cherish them.
