Version 0 of 1.

Pictures of frustrated travellers illustrate how the fire in the Channel Tunnel has left thousands stranded.

The Independent says the fire itself seems to have been brought under control very quickly.

But the paper hears from passengers who say the incident has been badly managed.

The Telegraph says another vehicle on the train at the centre of the fire was carrying an extremely hazardous, flammable acid.

Energy package

The energy efficiency package which has been announced by the government is broadly welcomed.

The Daily Mail describes the measure as "eminently sensible", and says for all his policy gaffes, Gordon Brown deserves a bouquet this time.

The Times agrees, admitting that energy efficiency isn't exactly glamorous, but it is essential.

The Daily Mirror is critical, accusing ministers of raising expectations of instant cash only to dash them.

Churchill art

The Daily Express reveals that a painting by Winston Churchill has been discovered in a bin-liner in a college lecturer's attic.

It is now expected to fetch £150,000 at auction next week.

The Daily Express shows an image of the painting, which depicts Windlesham Moor, a mansion in Surrey.

Apparently works by Churchill are hard to spot because he didn't really rate himself as an artist, and as such, rarely signed his paintings.

Footballer ballet

The English National Ballet has tried to reach new audiences, by recreating in dance the 10 most memorable moments in footballing history.

The Guardian shows images from the performance with dancers lunging to recreate Diego Maradona's infamous "hand-of-god" goal.

The Telegraph sums up the spectacle with the headline "4-4-Tutu".

It says it's an apt production, as players display tantrums and hissy fits that would embarrass a prima ballerina.
