By-election vote count under way Recount call as DUP tops election

The results of the Enniskillen council by-election are due to be announced. Sinn Féin have asked for a recount after the Democratic Unionist Party topped the poll in the Enniskillen council by-election.
The contest follows the death of the DUP's Joe Dodds - father of the party's deputy leader Nigel. Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster received 1,925 first preference votes, putting her ahead of the Sinn Féin's Debbie Coyle, who got 1,815.
Six candidates contested the election, with about 12,000 people eligible to vote in Wednesday's poll. The Ulster Unionist Party's Basil Johnston received 1,436 votes and the SDLP's Rosemary Flanagan got 739.
The DUP's Arlene Foster, Sinn Féin's Debbie Coyle, the SDLP's Rosemary Flanagan, the UUP's Basil Johnston, the Alliance's Kumar Kamble and independent Karen McHugh are up for election. The turnout was 50% with about 12,000 people eligible to vote.
Alliance Party candidate Dr Kumar Kamble polled 231 votes with the independent Karen McHugh receiving 158 votes.
