Women not amused by lack of loos

Version 0 of 1.

Re your article “Time to end the queue for women’s loos” (G2, 22 March), when I visited the newly refurbished Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon recently I inevitably had to join the queue for the ladies’ loos before a long journey home. The queue snaked past the gents’ and, while standing just outside their entrance, as if to rub salt into the wound, every time their door opened we were treated to a rear view of men relieving themselves. A triumph for the designers and the vast sums no doubt spent on improving this important theatre.Gill GloverLittle Chalfont, Buckinghamshire

• Your article (24 March) on life-saving refuges losing funding prompts me to suggest that those who stopped donating to Oxfam because of its employees’ behaviour in Haiti might give that money to Women’s Aid instead? That would directly help save women from violence, albeit women in this country.Henrietta CubittCambridge

• Karren Brady (G2 interview, 26 March) writes a column for a women’s magazine proclaiming to be “one of us”, writing about her “struggles” of juggling working and parenthood and at the same time as a being Tory peer voting for all austerity measures that hurt working women and stay-at-home mums.Dru SutherlandBroadstairs, Kent

• Your piece on Karren Brady – champion of women’s rights – begins with a description of her dress, tights and shoes. If she had been male, would his clothing have been mentioned? I think not. Ironic or what?Steve Vanstone Wolverhampton
