This week I have been at murder scenes in Tottenham, Walthamstow and today in Hackney.
In front of me is a white police tent, which was where the victim was pronounced dead last night.
There is a hive of police activity with a 200m-wide cordon and plain-clothed officers are combing the streets for evidence.
One local resident told me she didn't feel safe living in the area.
Another, who has lived in Hackney for 17 years, described it is a "nice place to live".
However, she said her seven-year-old son was in tears last night having seen what happened.
Four hours before the Hackney stabbing, police went to a bookmarkers on Upper Clapton Road after being told a man was unconscious.

Tottenham MP David Lammy said the capital was "in crisis" but it appeared many politicians did not care about the issue.
"I've heard nothing from the home secretary. I've heard nothing from the mayor... It's unacceptable.
"Is life in my constituency worth less than life in other parts of the country?" he said.
