Girl, 14, killed in van collision Driver bailed after girl's death

A 14-year-old girl has died after she was hit by a van on Saturday afternoon in Aberfan, Merthyr Vale. A woman has been released on police bail after the death of a 14-year-old girl who was in a collision with a van.
The collision with the Vauxhall Movano box van happened at 1725 BST in the Perthygleision area of the town. Hannah Louise Davies was playing with friends when she was in collision with a Vauxhall Movano box van in Aberfan, Merthyr Vale, on Saturday.
A 33-year-old woman, who was driving the van, has been arrested and questioned by police. Hannah was taken to hospital, where she died following the collision at about 1725 BST in the Perthygleision area.
On Sunday, officers named the girl as Hannah Louise Davies. They have appealed for witnesses to the collision to contact them on 029 20222111. The 33-year-old driver was arrested before being released. Police are appealing for witnesses.
