Forty-five people were evacuated after a fire broke out at a north London hospital. | |
London Fire Brigade said 58 firefighters tackled the blaze at Chase Farm Hospital, Enfield, where part of a two-storey building was alight. | |
Eight engines were called to the hospital at 22:11 BST and the fire was brought under control by 00:41, the brigade said. | |
Seven people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. | |
Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust said two of those were members of its staff, who were taken to hospital. | |
Fourteen patients had been moved to alternative accommodation for the night at the hospital at The Ridgeway because their ward was damaged, the trust added. | |
The fire service said the building was evacuated took place before its crews arrived. | |
