People asked to leave their homes have been told to gather at Elmfield council offices. The fire service said it had brought the fire under control by 14:30 BST, but that crews would "remain at the scene for 24 hours for ongoing fire-fighting activities".
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said West End has been completely closed off, as well as Bridge Street, Wood Green and Hailey Road. The area will be closed overnight, deputy leader of West Oxfordshire District Council Toby Morris said.
