Around 700 people held a day of prayer in his memory on Friday, in line with Hindu tradition. A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that a man has beendetained in connection with the investigation into the death of Michael Blakey.
"He was detained late on Sunday evening. Local police are treating this as amurder inquiry."
