A suicide bomber blew himself up in the market area in the southwestern Syrian city of Sweida, Sana state news agency said. Law enforcement reportedly killed two more suicide attackers before they could blow themselves up. The death toll from all bombings has reached 38, the head of the Sweida health authority said, as cited by Ikhbariyah TV. Both SANA and Ikhbariyah reported that the attacks were launched by Islamic State (formerly ISIS) terrorists. Condemning the attack, the Russian Foreign Ministry said the terrorists “desperately resort to mass violence against civilians,” as they feel “the inevitability of their defeat.”
