It is the fourth rape in the south of the city in two weeks and the 18th in the area since April.

The police have appealed for anyone with information about the assault to contact them. Inspector Robert Murdie said detectives were working on gathering evidence.
"A number of these are live investigations and they can be very protracted," he said.
"They take a lot of forensic evidence and a lot of police work and investigation has to go into them."
