Det Sgt Charlie Craig said the victim had been badly shaken.
He said: "At the time she was traumatised and she is now recovering. I'm aware that a passer-by was in the area at the time, in fact the passer-by actually disturbed the incident, causing the suspect to flee from the scene. We're very keen to trace this man."
