Version 0 of 1.

An amateur dramatics group in Lancashire has advertised for a real stuffed warthog's head to take centre stage in their forthcoming production.

Hall Players, based in Preston, said it was looking for a genuine warthog head because the actors like their props to look "as authentic as possible".

The animal head will appear in Inspector Drake and the Perfekt Crime, being performed on 6-8 November.

Treasurer Howard Casson said: "Our audience pay to see the real thing."

It is ironic, I run a hog roast business but I never get hold of the actual heads Howard Casson He added: "We are an amateur theatre group but when the curtain goes up on the opening night we want the production to look authentic, so that means getting hold of a real stuffed warthog head."

Mr Casson, who is also the play's producer, said since putting an advert in the local newspaper a man from Longridge has offered to loan them the head of a warthog which he shot in South Africa.

Mr Casson added: "It is ironic, I run a hog roast business but I never get hold of the actual heads."
