Man and youth charged with murder

A man and a 14-year-old boy have been charged with murder and robbery after a man was found lying in a street.

Paul Smith, of Biart Place, in Rugby, Warwickshire died in hospital after being found in the town on Saturday.

Matthew Armstrong, 18, from Rugby, and the youth have been charged with the 54-year-old's murder and robbery, Warwickshire Police said.

They were remanded in custody to appear before Nuneaton Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

They were both also charged with a burglary that occurred in Rugby on 29 October, police added.

Five more people have been arrested over the matter and have since been released on bail.
