Fire crews called to Burndennett Cricket Club early on Saturday morning found the building well alight. Fire crews which were called to Burndennett Cricket Club outside Strabane early on Saturday morning found the building already well alight.
"It involved an oil tank, which then spread to the roof of the building," said Fire Service District Commander William Lynch. "This will be very sore on this area as it's the only thing we have around here," said John McDaid, who helped found the club in 1973.
"The building is severely damaged and I would suspect that it will have to be pulled down." "It caters for a lot of people and we're a very mixed outfit."
Further investigations are to be carried out on Saturday. Fire Service District Commander William Lynch said: "It (the fire) involved an oil tank, which then spread to the roof of the building.
"We cannot rule out that it was started deliberately," added Mr Lynch. "The building is severely damaged and I would suspect that it will have to be pulled down. We cannot rule out that it was started deliberately," added Mr Lynch.
