The M62 was closed in both directions following a serious collision. A man has been hurt following a serious collision which was closed the M62 in both directions.
A man was taken to hospital with "major trauma injuries" after the crash on the motorway in Merseyside, North West Ambulance Service said. A car and two HGVs crashed on the westbound carriageway between junction 7 (A57) and junction 8 (A574) at about 19:46 GMT on Wednesday.
It happened between junction 7 (A57) and 8 (A574). North West Motorway Police attended the scene at 19:48 GMT. Cheshire Police said a pedestrian was then hit by several vehicles.
The 20-year-old man from Warrington was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The road was shut for several hours but has since reopened.
